ADS Encryption Systems

The Way It Works

The ADS Encryption System is a licensed product that is developed by BeCrypt, integrated within the ADS family of products and supported by Access Denied Systems. The system is comprised of five modules.

The ADS/BeCrypt Protect Manager™ is a server based management tool Protect Manager provides a secure, entralized resource for the management of encryption keys and the storage of recovery data, with controlled access via a management Console.

The ADS/BeCrypt DISK Protect™ module FULL disk encryption. On installation, DISK Protect encrypts the hard disk(s) using a unique Encryption Key. From then on data is automatically decrypted and reencrypted on the fly (as and when required). If an unauthorized user tries to bypass authentication, all data remains encrypted and unreadable. Encryption overhead is minimal with no noticeable impact on performance.

The DISK Protect can authenticate the user by password, by password and Clippy, or by smart card and PIN. Authenticating the user pre-boot allows DISK Protect to encrypt the entire hard drive, including the Operating System, preventing access using low level tools.

The ADS/BeCrypt Connect Protect™ will protect an enterprise from the accidental or malicious leakage of private or sensitive data by protecting against data leakage and the installation of unwanted software or the user's personal data (which can introduce viruses). Allows for total control of Plug & Play devices. Allows the auditing of device usage, logging connection and copy events to a Central Audit Server, where they may be viewed via the Event Viewer (supplied as an MMC snap-in), and/ or to the local Windows Event Log. Connect Protect restricts the use of removable storage devices to approved vendor/models and/or to pre-approved or signed devices and permits the controlled, audited copy of unencrypted data to otherwise restricted removable media (Audited File Copy).

The ADS/BeCrypt Removable Media™ Module is a cost-effective way to protect data on removable
storage devices, such as USB thumb drives and SD Cards. The Module encrypts data on common forms of removable media, including USB thumb drives and SD Cards. It provides flexible controlled access to encrypted data via a password. The module includes the MediaViewer, which may be installed on any PC to provide full read/write access to the encrypted medium. This module in conjunction with Connect Protect will enforce a secure removable media policy.

The ADS/BeCrypt PDA Protect™ module works with all Microsoft Windows Mobile ver. 5.0 devices to encrypt and secure the data contained within the device.
