The Way It Works

View Product Details (PDF)

The Mercury Enterprise System™ is a client-server based system that integrates each of the workstations' individual Access Denied Systems security devices such is the Active ProxSecurity System™, the Bio Proximity Security System™, the Bio Sonar Security System™ or the Passive ProxSecurity System™.

The Mercury Enterprise System™ resides on the current network server and extends Active Directory within the Server's Operating System.

Mercury extends Active Directory to store all configuration information including biometric and tag information for the user on the Domain level. Utilizing the Active Directory allows for the biometric information to only be entered once per user and it will be available anywhere as long as the computer is a member of the domain.

For Domain Users, Mercury Enterprise System™ stores the badge information and the biometric information in AD. For local users, the information is encrypted with a special encryption algorithm and is stored in the registry. Passwords are also stored in this encrypted form.
The workstations are configured with the Active ProxSecurity System™, the Bio Proximity Security System™, the Bio Sonar Security System™ or the Passive ProxSecurity System™. Each network may have an unlimited number of workstations. Each workstation may have a different ADS security system attached.

All the configurations and controls of the workstation are then configured, maintained and monitored via the Active Directory. Event logs detailing the workstation usage are stored within the Active Directory and may be printed out with the Active Directory reporting function.
